Handling prayer requests with care

The sharing choice is required, so you never guess. Read it before a request goes into the bulletin or the Sunday prayers.

Requests marked prayer team only stay with the team. Give response access to the people who pray, not to the whole staff.

When someone asks to be contacted, call within two days. A request often comes in a hard week.

Prayer request questions

Can people send a request without their name?

Yes. The name is optional, and the sharing question has a choice to share the request without it. The form asks for nothing else unless the person wants someone to reach out. Say in the intro that unsigned requests are prayed for in the same way, so people who hesitate feel welcome to write.

Where should we share the link?

On the church website, in the weekly email and on a card in the pews. People often write a request late at night, so a link that works on a phone matters. A QR code on the pew card or in the bulletin also lets someone send a request quietly during the service, without walking to the front.

Can the prayer team get each request by email?

Turn on email notifications in the form's settings. Each new request arrives in the inbox of the form's owner, who can forward it to the team. Read the sharing choice before you forward, so a request meant for the team stays with the team. A small team of three to five people can pray over every request that week.
