Rec league free agent sign-up
Solo players get placed on a team by sport, level and night.
What's inside
Every free agent gives a sport, a level and the nights they can play; competitive players say where they've played, so you place them where they keep games close.

Placing free agents on the right team
Keep the free agent link next to your team registration. Plenty of players move to a new city without a team, and they leave if the only option is to bring one.
Place by night first, then level. A player who can only play Mondays has one choice, so they go in before the flexible ones.
Spread competitive players across teams. Two former college players on one kickball team ends the season for everyone else by week three.
Send each free agent their captain's name the week before the season. A first message from a real person makes the first game far less awkward.
Free agent sign-up questions
What if there aren't enough free agents for a full team?
Add them to teams that are short, or start a team of free agents with one captain you know. Tell them in the email which one it is. Most teams can take one or two extra players, which also covers the weeks someone can't make it. If your free agent team needs more players, keep the form open and share the link again until the roster is full.
Do coed leagues need a gender question?
Many coed leagues need balanced rosters. If yours does, add an optional question with the options your league rules use, and say why in the label. A short reason like "for coed roster rules" helps people answer. Check the replies by sport and night before you place anyone, since each night's teams need their own balance.
How do free agents pay?
Put the free agent price and a payment link in the intro, or invoice them once they're placed. Fillio doesn't process payments. Invoicing after placement is easier when you can't promise everyone a team, because you never have to send refunds. Say which way you'll do it in the intro, so players know whether to pay now or wait for an invoice.
